Start with the actual counter or table dimensions and the style of service. Confirm the selected stool's seat height and footprint rather than relying on bar-height or counter-height labels. Consider guest access, seating duration and the surrounding layout, then review the stool and raised surface as one arrangement.
Compare finished seat height with the underside of the counter, tabletop thickness and any apron. Add seat width, arm height, base footprint and footrest position to the review. Supply both stool and counter drawings so clearance can be checked before ordering, including space to enter and leave the seat.
Confirm the actual frame material, finish, seat construction and any back, arm or footrest details for the selected design. Swivel mechanisms and other features vary by model. Ask for their specifications where required rather than assuming a visible stool profile includes a particular mechanism, reinforcement or load rating.
Seat height, dimensions, upholstery, frame finish and footrest details may be reviewed, subject to product and project feasibility. Provide the counter measurements and chosen stool reference. Approve the coordinated drawing and samples, especially if changing height affects the frame proportions, foot support or clearance beneath the counter.
Review the stool's assembly, base footprint, floor contact and any available leveling details. Follow the selected model's inspection and care instructions for joints, upholstery and foot supports. Check the finished surface height, tabletop thickness, apron position and usable leg clearance before choosing counter-height or bar-height seating. Compare upholstered seats and backrests. For commercial bar stools with backs, review the backrest shape, seat depth, cushioning and overall width alongside the intended use. Selected designs may also include armrests. Confirm the upholstery material, color, cleaning requirements and arm height for the chosen model, especially where the stool needs to fit beneath a counter.
Choose the frame and finish together. Depending on the design, stool frames may use wood, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, resin, or mixed-material constructions. Frame shapes, leg structures, finishes and proportions vary by model. Coordinate these details with nearby restaurant tables and the interior finish schedule rather than matching color alone.
Review footrests and operating space. Check the footrest position, seat access and space between stools within the actual layout. If a swivel mechanism or another moving feature is required, confirm its availability and clearance for the selected product separately. Do not assume that a padded seat, backrest or frame style establishes those functions.
